On Jan 29, 2025, TNVET’s annual Veterans Day on the Hill was held at the Cordell Hull Legislative Offices Bldg. in Nashville. An excellent turnout from veterans living all across the state. As veterans know, this event is about learning veteran issues at the state level, meeting the legislators that represent you and to advocate for legislation, which the TNVET members have selected, based on the input of its 12 member veteran organizations and 50,000 members. The chairman of the state Veteran Service Offices leadership and the Commissioner of the Tennessee Dept. of Veterans Services spoke and presented info to the vets. Attending veterans filled-out letters that will be filed with their specific representing legislators to support the four bills TNVET is working this session. These letter forms will soon be posted to this website so all veterans may fill them out and submit to their specific legislators. ONLY by your communication direct with your legislators can we get our bills passed!
As always, these events can’t be accomplished without a lot of help and support by many organizations. TNVET wants to publicly say a HUGE and sincere THANK YOU to the following state and local government organizations whom we have built great working relations and friendships with and who bend over backwards to help us with this event. Without their support and help we would have NO place in which to conduct this veteran event.
1. Metro Nashville Sports Authority
2. Office of the House Clerk
3. The Tennessee State Troopers and Security Officers of the Capitol Protection Unit
4. Office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives
5. The legislators and their executive staffs/assistants and administrators.
Also, our event could not happen without the assistance of businesses. They want to support our veteran cause by helping and providing us with services that enable us to conduct our mission! Frankly, without their support we could not get our veterans to and from and taken care of on this day. We thank you and want all to know these businesses care about vets! THANK YOU!!!
1. Gray Line – Nashville (transportation)
2. Dunkin’ Donuts
3. Mission BBQ
We also want to send a BIG Thank You to our friends at “A Walk In Their Boots”. These are living historian and re-enactors that come from upper Northeast Tennessee to our event. They help by physically showing support and promoting our veteran cause. They are always a hit in the period correct military combat and dress uniforms. Many are veterans themselves.
Again THANK YOU to all of the people and organizations! We salute you!
We salute and thank you for supporting veterans of Tennessee!!!
